A crescent sun slowly rose up and dyed the sky in red in Rochester, New York, on June 10 amid a solar eclipse observed in North America and Europe.
Joseph Frascati documented the partial solar eclipse on Thursday. This video shows the sun, which resembles the shape of a new moon, climbing up in the sky.
“[Western New York] got treated to a celestial treat,” Frascati wrote on his YouTube post that featured the video.
The annual eclipse event occurred when the moon was “far enough away from Earth that [it] appears smaller than the sun in the sky,” NASA said. Credit: Joseph Frascati via Storyful
