More than 620 soldiers with the Indiana National Guard deployed to Washington from Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh, Indiana, on Saturday, January 16, ahead of the US presidential inauguration.

The Indiana National Guard said the troops sent to Washington would aid security measures around Joe Biden’s inauguration. The Indiana National Guard says it has “nearly 13,000 Guardsmen” and those not deployed to Washington would continue other missions, such as COVID-19 support.
