Rajasthan Govt to waive off outstanding loan of small entrepreneurs, artisans, weavers

Jaipur (Rajasthan) September 16 (ANI): The Rajasthan Government will give big relief to the artisans, weavers, small entrepreneurs associated with cottage and small scale industries by waiving off the outstanding loans pending for two decades. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has decided to waive off the outstanding amount of about Rs 8.04 crore on the beneficiary artisans and small entrepreneurs of various loan schemes of the Industries Department. CM Gehlot has approved the proposal of the Industries Department in this regard, under which the outstanding loan and interest amount of a total of 6,248 borrowers of 9 schemes will be waived. The Chief Minister had announced to waive off the outstanding loans of about 3,000 entrepreneurs in the state budget year 2021-22. In compliance with this announcement, more than double, a total of 6,248 entrepreneurs with an outstanding loan amount of about Rs 1.45 crore and Rs 6.59 crore as interest till March 2021 will be waived off. This decision of CM Gehlot will benefit the entrepreneurs, artisans and weavers associated with small scale industries, who are facing adverse economic conditions during the COVID pandemic.
