Students develop smart tech for elderly, disabled

A smart ulcer prevention system that encourages wheelchair users to play simple "weight-shifting" games, a convertible PMD/shopping trolley, and a safety device that alerts caregivers when the gas stove at an elderly’s home is switched on for too long. These are some of the winning entries - picked from the submissions of 24 tertiary student teams - showcased at the 7th National Assistive & Rehabilitation Technologies Student Innovation Challenge this year.
