What is the best luggage size?
There are many options out there but to be safe, let's look at the three common sizes:
20-inch luggage is safe as a carry-on or cabin size. They are also roughly 55cm, which is the 'small' size
24-inch luggage is considered as a check-in bag, and is about 65cm, for a 'medium' size
28-inch luggage is also considered as a check-in bag and is about 75cm for a 'large' size
The inch measurement normally refers to the height of the luggage. For those going away for the weekend, generally, the 20-inch small luggage is sufficient, but do take note of the 7kg weight limit most airlines have.
When I go away for long getaways – for up to two weeks – I would recommend taking the 28-inch large luggage, only because I shop a lot.
