Struggling Bus Operators Protesting for Government Bailout Cause Traffic Jams in Berlin

Protesting bus operators caused “traffic chaos” in Berlin, Germany, on May 27, as 300 touring coaches rallied for more government support for the struggling industry, according to BZ.

Local bus traffic controllers reported that bus routes had to be changed due to the protest. Road traffic control uploaded images of the traffic jams caused by the protest.

The Federal Association of German Bus Operators has called for state subsidies and for the resumption of bus travel nationwide, following federal government plans to inject 5.5 billion euros into partly state-owned rail operator Deutsche Bahn, according to Deutsche Welle.
